Fortune Cookies

It’s in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.

I received that piece of wisdom in my fortune cookie yesterday. Right then I decided to make a change. It’s time I  live my life without judging, second-guessing, worrying and seeking approval.

AND we’re BACK to the LISTS!!! YES, I know you missed them as much as I did.

  1. Time to try my best, and then try harder. Whether I want to lose weight, learn to knit a cable-knit sweater or become an award winner illustrator, I’m going to actively throw my whole heart in until I succeed. I accept that none of my goals are easy to carry out, and will take time. Each day I do my best, I move forward.
  2. Thank others for their advice and do exactly what I want to do anyway.Too often I know what will work for me, and I let others talk me out of it. NO MORE!!! For example, I am going to do weight watchers with my brother and his wife and they said “You shouldn’t work out the first week” and I said “I like going to the gym. It keeps me from being stabby” and they said “Oh okay! Then go to the gym!” People who love me will ultimately support my healthy-for-me decisions, even if they don’t agree with it. Everyone else can suck it. :)
  3. Step over my fear and self-doubt and move forward with confidence and belief in my awesomeness. Just because it’s difficult doesn’t mean that I can’t do this. I can!

233 days left for 100 in 365. How much can I achieve by then? I can’t wait to find out :)

  1. Not to rain on your parade… But I once got a fortune cookie reading that says “You will never have to worry about money again.” Whoa? Really? I still do worry! :-)

I like your list — have always enjoyed your positivity (and not just because it’s so sorely lacking in me). We are all rootin’ for ya!

  2. My fortune cookie makes no promises. :) I’m glad you think I’m positive! Most of the time I’m very blue, but I’ve DECIDED to be positive and change my DESTINY. I think you’re a positive person, hell, you gotta sky blue state of mind ;) You’re just going through a rough patch. Nobody can be cheery ALL the time. Unless they’re crazy. Or high.

    • Skyblue? What a joke — I am more “midnight blues” right now :-) But thanks!

  3. I am a fan of lists … and I’m a fan of you. I won’t give you any advise because i’m not interested in “suck[ing] it”. ;-)
